Best days out in Byford

Where to build? City or Country? It’s a question that sparks the beginning of any new home journey. How about the perfect combination of the two!

Nestled into the foot hills of the Darling Scarpe, just 40 minutes south east of the Perth CBD, Byford is the perfect mix of country and city life. With the nature and beauty of the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale on your doorstep there’s so much to explore. From bushwalking to great places to take the family out for dinner, you’ve got hours of entertainment at your fingertips.

Thankfully Beenyup Grove is surrounded by some pretty awesome places to experience. We’ve narrowed down some of our favourite things to do in Byford, so you can explore the area and love it just as much as we do ?

 ? Cohuna Koala Park

Have you every dreamt of cuddling a koala (or maybe a nightmare about being chases by a flock of emu’s)! There’s mountains of family fun to be had at the Cohuna Koala Park. Hand feed the colony of koalas, friendly wallabies and their family of deer, dingos and emu’s. Or take the miniature railway on a safari around the park! Make sure to check it out ?

? King Road Brewery

Kick back and relax at the King Road Brewery. Whether you’re there for a family function or hanging out for a Sunday arvo with friends.

With locally brewed beer and their pizzas voted Restaurant Guru’s 2020 ‘Best Pizza’, you’ll be sure to be settled in for a lengthy stay, whether you’re in front of the fire or chilling out in the sun.

Our fave is the Chicken Schnitty with mushroom sauce! It’s a classic and hits the spot rain, hail or shine. Or for our veggo pals check out the mushroom & two cheese pizza ? Check out the entire menu to get your tummy rumbling here.

? Macora Walking Trail

Step back into nature and switch off for a little bit and experience the Macora Walking Trail. The trail itself is grade two, SO good news is that it requires no previous bushwalking experience to get out and about to experience the trail!

Walking amongst granite outcrops that are thought to be 400 million year old, you’ll spot some awesome historic stops along the way, including the site of the 1914 brickworks.

Set aside an hour or so to get to the top and experience some gorgeous views over Kwinana and the southern metro area.

? Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre

The multi-purpose community centre has something for everyone in the fam! Whether you’re thinking group fitness classes or a team sport, you’ll find something that suits you.

Their school holiday program has something to entertain your little loves (and so you can have some quality R&R ?). Everything from roller skating to getting involved in community activities, the programs run every school holidays, make sure you don’t miss out!
