Whilst many people believe it might not be important to ask how long a builder has been in the industry, for us we think it’s vital that future you know that the builder you choose to bring your new home to life has industry experience and knows how to navigate the ebbs and flows of the market.
How do your customers feel about their building journey. Can I see any current reviews?
It’s all well and good for a business to tell you that their customers are happy, but we suggest doing some investigating to guarantee you’re getting an unbiased opinion. Checking out the builders Product Review is a great place to start! Product Review is a third party site that requires proof of purchase, so you know you’re getting genuine opinions from genuine customers!

Do you have fixed siteworks?
This is an important question to ask you builder! Site works can often put your budget at risk if a builder underestimates the cost of siteworks. A fixed cost for site works means that there are no surprises – so make sure you’re always asking the question.
You’re in-love with the display home- Are the finishes standard?
We know how overwhelming the feeling can be when you walk into a display home and instantly fall in love with the selections and then the thought dawns on you – is this all included? Sometimes what you see isn’t what you get. Some builders spec up their display homes, but unfortunately for you, the things that you fall in love with may be an upgrade for you in your new home!
What is Prestart and how much should I budget for?
Prestart or your Colour Selection Meeting is the appointment where you meet with a Colour Selection Consultant to choose the colours, materials and finishes for your new home (it’s also one of the most exciting parts).
